During my bachelor degree I was fascinated about the behaviour of wolves. I visited a Danish zoo, during a ethology course and ended up working with captive wolves when finishing my Bachelor thesis. My colleague and I pretty much lived in the wolf enclusure for two months (yes, also sleeping out there) to investigate if the behavioural patterns we saw was similar to what the literature defined as the natural behaviour of wolves. The results from this small scale work was later presented at the first Large Carnivore Conference in 2015, Krasny Bor, Belarus, which was my first conference. A huge experience in a foreign and very non-touristic country including howling with a wild wolf pack, jeep safari in bison, mouflon, deer, moose and lynx reserves and meeting some of my wolf-research-idols.
