The project is a collaboration between researchers, farmers, technology and developing companies. The main focus is on providing information and knowledge about how management strategies in different production systems for pigs influence farmers’ daily time budget in relation to number and complexity of tasks, the efficiency of workflow etc. The project will also include investigations of how to improve the data-exchange between different parties in pig production (farmers, advisors, veterinarians, researchers). Finally, the project will also initiate the first steps in the development of a “farmer-oriented” smartphone application for easier production/management data collection, organisation and visualisation of data, as well as for making daily tasks easier and more efficient from a time-management perspective.
